CSMEE also participates, from time to time, in other events such as The Big Little Train Show, Modelex and so on.

Regular Activities

Train Running Days:

Club members (who are all volunteers) endeavor to run model trains at our site in the Halswell Domain on Sunday afternoons from 1pm to 4pm throughout the year - subject to weather.

Whilst every effort will be made to ensure that trains and other services run as advertised, CSMEE reserves the right to cancel any service without notice and no liability for any loss will be accepted by CSMEE.

Special Boat Sailing Days:

These are held from time to time.

Working Bees etc:
Working bees and maintenance activities provide and ideal opportunity to get to know  fellow club members and their projects.

Advice is freely given, wanted and unwanted.

Picnics and Parties

The Halswell Domain is an ideal place for a family picnic and some people use it for birthday parties and the like.  We welcome that.

There are picnic tables in the Domain and these are free for any members of the public to use.  Please note that, being in a Council Domain, we cannot reserve them for you however there are also plenty of grassed areas.  There are Council toilets and a children's adventure playground close by, and often members sail radio controlled model boats on the boating pond.

You are welcome to visit the Domain anytime, but trains only run from 1 to 4 pm Sundays (weather permitting).  Tickets are $2 per ride with concession tickets (6 rides for $10 or 12 rides for $20) available  The tickets are not dated and any unused rides can be used on any other Sunday run day.  Ticket sales are cash only.

Charity events for special needs groups are held from time to time subject to members availability (we rely on members giving of their time - no one is paid).  Contact Eddie Clark Ph 021 891 980 for more details if you want to discuss this further.
